Chelsea's finances are under a lot of scrutiny, and there have already been suggestions that they might have to sell some players before the cutoff point of June 30 to comply with Profit and Sustainability Rules.
However, according to David Ornstein, this is not the case.
"They do not need to make sales is my understanding to comply for 2023-24," Ornstein said on NBC Sports.
“The cutoff [for 2023-24] is June the 30th. They will need to make sales to comply for 2024-25. The cutoff [for 2024-2025], is obviously the end of the transfer window in August and then January."
This is good news for Chelsea who do not have to be in a hurry, as potential buyers won't have an extra lever to drive a hard bargain.
Still, sales will come this summer, with some academy graduates likely to be on their way out in exchange for 'pure profit'.
