Chelsea are reportedly set to hijack Manchester United’s move for Aaron Anselmino, one of Argentina’s top young defenders. The 19-year-old, who plays for Boca Juniors, recently extended his contract until the end of 2028.
Despite this extension, Anselmino has caught the eye of several Premier League clubs, including Manchester United. Originally, his contract had a £15.72 million release clause, but this was removed due to increasing interest from top teams.
According to The Sun, Chelsea have now joined the race for Anselmino. Journalist Fafi Perez confirmed that both Chelsea and Manchester United are ready to meet Boca’s new asking price, leading to a possible bidding war for the talented defender.
