Dembele out: Barcelona announce 23-man squad for Getafe

Martin Braithwaite and Ousmane Dembele have been left out of Barcelona's matchday squad for Thursday's La Liga clash with Getafe.

The Dane picked up an ankle injury in training earlier this week while the Frenchman continues to struggle with a pubis problem. Barca haven't put any timeframe on the pair's potential return to action.

Conservative treatment doesn't help Dembele, player still finishes games with discomfort: Sport

Ousmane Dembele has been suffering from pubalgia in the past few weeks which made him finish several games with discomfort lately, Tomas Andreu of Diario Sport reports.

Conservative treatment is being applied but as things stand now the 23-year-old's injury continues to affect his performances.

Barcelona are concerned about the Frenchman's situation as pubalgia or a chronic groin strain is best treated by rest but there's no such option at this stage of the season.

Andreu also adds that a potential surgery on Dembele's groin has been discarded for the time being.

Ousmane Dembele provides update on his Barca future

"My future? I still have a year left on my contract. There have been no discussions with the club, I'm happy and I feel good," Ousmane Dembele has told beIN Sports.

"A new president has arrived and I don't really know him, but he is very close to the players. We'll see how it goes," the Frenchman added.

According to various sources, Barcelona would like to extend the player's deal but Dembele himself is in no hurry to commit his future to Blaugrana.

The 23-year-old has made 37 appearances for the Catalans this season, scoring 10 goals.
