Pedri out, Dembele in: Barcelona fans select ultimate XI to face Atletico

Here's how Tribuna.com's fans of Barcelona want Ronald Koeman to line up against Atletico Madrid on Saturday based on the 3 starting XI options we offered you to choose from yesterday.

Soccerates: "They are going to play a compact 4-4-2 and sit back. We find it extremely difficult to penetrate in situations like that without someone like Dembele drawing attention on the wings.

"Griezmann will keep moving into the middle, which should allow Alba to occupy the left flank for cross back to Griezmann, where he can play one-two with Messi for a goal. Bring in Pedri for Dest in the second half and move into a 4-3-3, so De Jong pushes further up to create an additional goal threat if we find the team struggling. But we all know Pedri is starting this game in a 3-5-2 with Messi and Griezman up top. No surprises planned."

JORDAN JASMINE: "No Pedri, it's okay, that boy can't mark and he will be pocketed by Atletico boyz."

Starting XI: Ter Stegen, Pique, Araujo, Mingueza, Alba, Dest, Busquets, De Jong, Griezmann, Dembele, Messi.

Ansu Fati and Philippe Coutinho are the only confirmed injury absentees in Barca's squad as the pair are set to miss the remainder of the season due to respective knee problems.

'I think it was something personal': Koeman on his two-game ban

"I think it was something personal," Ronald Koeman told the pre-Atletico Madrid presser of his red card against Granada, as quoted by Sport.

"To say 'What a character' is not an insult. It's not a reason for a two-game ban. So yes, there's something more (to it)."

The Granada sending-off and subsequent two-match ban will see the Dutchman missing from the Atleti clash on Saturday as Barcelona's appeal to TAD has been rejected.

Confirmed: Koeman to miss Atletico clash as Barca's red card appeal denied

Barcelona's appeal to the Administrative Court of Sport (TAD) over Ronald Koeman's red card has been rejected, Diario Sport report. Thus, the coach won't be able to lead the team from the bench in the upcoming La Liga clash against Atletico Madrid.

The Catalans initially appealed the red card to the Spanish Royal Football Association (RFEF) but it was denied. Blaugrana hoped that the TAD would overturn the decision.

The coach was handed a two-match ban after seeing a red card in the match against Granada for saying 'what a character' to the fourth referee. The Dutchman already missed the away match against Valencia, with his assistant, Alfred Schreuder, leading the team to a 3-2 victory.
