OFFICIAL: Griezmann joins Atletico Madrid

. La Liga have confirmed the move on their website, indicating that the Frenchman will play on loan at the Rojiblancos for the 2021/22 season.

As per previous reports, Griezmann joins Atletico on a two-year loan. A €40m buy obligation is said to have been included in the deal.

Barcelona have officially confirmed that Atleti have an obligatory buy option but do not specify the amount. However, the Catalans do say that Antoine's salary will be paid in full by his new (old) club.

The loan can be extended by another year.

Griezmann joined Barca back in 2019 in a move worth €120m. In 102 matches for Blaugrana, the Frenchman recorded 35 goals and 17 assists.

It's difficult to say why exactly the fans were unhappy with the Frenchman. It could've been his poor performance this term so far.

However, it's also possible that the fans didn't like Antoine staying at the club while 

 were unable to register the Argentine in part due to the large salary of Griezmann and alike.

De Jong is just for short time...It looks like the club are looking to sign a world class player Next year...
