German media want Ter Stegen to replace Neuer after veteran goalkeeper flops at World Cup

For the first time ever, the German press is pushing the idea that Marc-Andre ter Stegen should be starting in goal for the national team ahead of Manuel Neuer, Mundo Deportivo report.

Neuer is criticized for his poor performance at the World Cup where he conceded five goals in three matches.

Ter Stegen, despite his heroics at Barcelona before the start of the tournament, didn't play a single minute. The goalkeeper went to the World Cup with 11 clean sheets in 19 matches just to be a back-up.

Germany's next big tournament will be the 2024 Euro which they will also host. So, the question is whether Hans-Dieter Flick should start playing Marc as the starting goalkeeper considering that Neuer will be 38 years old by then.
