Barcelona's Mr Reliable in goal Marc-Andre Ter Stegen is out with an injury. Although it's not too serious, it was suspected to be bad enough to keep him sidelined for at least a week.
Ter Stegen was spotted driving away from training on Friday which all but confirmed he will miss the game against Rayo Vallecano today. Indeed when Barca released their squad, their captain's name was missing.
Speaking on the injury, Ter Stegen said: I have to see how I evolve each day after the injury.
“I am in contact with the doctors to see the steps to follow, we will see tomorrow how I am and we will decide based on this.”
The German goalie picked up his back injury while on international duty last week. It's likely that Ter Stegen will also miss the Champions League game against Porto next Tuesday.
Ter Stegen is tipped to return to full fitness next weekend December 3, when Barca faces Atletico Madrid at home.
