'Tough': Xavi worried about Barca's next game – all because of losing ONE player

"Losing Gundogan against Almeria will be a heavy blow. He helps us understand and calm the game. Today [v Real Sociedad], he played a very good game," Xavi has told the media.

"We will replace him with Pedri, maybe Fermin... we need players who give us what Gundo gives us," the Barca boss added.

Ilkay Gundogan will miss Thursday's away clash against Almeria due to a one-match suspension after picking up a yellow against Real Sociedad. This will be only the second time the German won't feature for Blaugrana this season.

Barcelona have re-claimed their second place in the La Liga table which allows them to participate in the Spanish Supercopa. However, there are three more games to go and Girona are just one point behind.
