Xavi makes definitive statement on potentially giving up compensation fee after Barca exit

Barcelona are hopeful that Xavi will agree to forgo the rest of his salary (until 2025) once he leaves the club.

When asked if he plans to do that, the gaffer replied: "Will I give up on the remaining salary? I've answered this before and I always keep my word."

Xavi has indicated in the past that he will be ready to give up his salary if that helps Barca financially.

This means that the Blaugrana can save as much as €7m if they don't have to pay the Spaniard for the final year of his contract, which expires in 2025.

But, Xavi reportedly wants his support staff to be compensated because they really require their wages.
