No 'top talents' since 2004? Bayer Leverkusen hilariously clap back at hater with Kai Havertz tweet

Bayer Leverkusen have got themselves in a hilarious banter session on Twitter after mocking those who don't enjoy watching the Bundesliga.

One person then responded by claiming that the German top flight was 'a one-team league' because 'Bayern Munich buys all your best players'.

Bayer then correctly pointed out that they hadn't 'sold a player to Bayern since 2004'. After which, another person chimed in by claiming that they 'haven't produced a top talent since 2004'.

And then, the Leverkusen admin had his revenge: "The last top talent we produced literally scored the Champions League winning goal in 2021."

They were of course referring to Kai Havertz, who scored the winning goal for Chelsea against Manchester City in the 2021 Champions League final after moving to Stamford Bridge from Bayer in the summer of 2020.
