'Hope he won't be next Andy Carroll': Fan shares major concern about Timo Werner's potential LFC move

As Timo Werner is seemingly getting close to a move to Liverpool, his potential role in the squad is one of the biggest questions. A natural striker, Werner could become a spearhead of the front three with Roberto Firmino dropping deeper.

On paper, everything looks great - our current attacking trio remains intact, although the roles might change a bit. However, our user Nana Kofi Arthur highlights one major concern about the heavily-rumoured transfer.

"My fear is, will they pass the ball to him? I’m talking about passes from Salah, passes from Mane," our user writes in his blog.

"You all know the competition between these two stars of ours. Mane scores and Salah wants to respond similarly. Salah scores and Mane wants to do the same. So on the day when Firmino doesn't come to assist Werner, then he would have to fish for himself.

"The EPL is physical, so Timo might be so exhausted to finish or score from chances he has created for himself. He might not score consistently.

"I hope that if this happens, we, Reds supporters, won’t pile pressure on him, but we would be patient and encourage him. With this, Timo would be great for the club and won’t be the next Andy Carroll. I hope each one of us remembers that guy. He was a total waste of money and time."
