Alisson, Matip & more: 6 players Klopp has used the most so far this season

Jurgen Klopp has got serious contributions from a number of players to ensure Liverpool's great start to the season.

While we already took a look at which players have struggled for minutes, quite a few other have made themselves mainstays in the starting XI.

Here's a look at six players that have amassed the most minutes across all competitions in this young season already:

Alisson - 810 minutes

The Brazilian keeper missed only one of Liverpool's 10 games this season, the Carabao Cup win over Norwich.

There can't be any doubt that Alisson will play every meaningful game in the Premier League and the Champions League going forward - apart from the Reds' next game at Watford for reasons that are well documented.

Mohamed Salah - 778 minutes

Salah has been simply unstoppable at the start of this season, and his playing time is just another indication of how fit the Egyptian has been in the first games.

In that time, Mo scored nine goals and provided three assists which roughly equates one goal contribution per 65 minutes.

Sadio Mane - 723 minutes

Mane has not been as prolific as his partner in crime ('just' five goals in that period), but he has been almost as ever-present as Salah.

Of course, Roberto Firmino's injury played a part in it as Jurgen Klopp could not rotate his front line as freely as he would've loved.

Virgil van Dijk - 720 minutes

Prior to the start of the season, Van Dijk had not played a game for almost 10 months. Now, he has completed 90 minutes in eight games.

Even though it might take Virgil a while to get back to his best level, he's already good enough to return to his role as the team's defensive stalwart.

Joel Matip - 720 minutes

On all but one occasions, Van Dijk was partnered by Matip, another player who had missed over half a year before the 2021/22 campaign.

Matip also played alongside Joe Gomez against AC Milan, so his playing time is identical to that of Virgil - and there's no doubt about the Reds' first-choice centre-back pair.

Fabinho - 660 minutes

The last but not the least, the only midfielder close to the top of the list. Fabinho proves his status as the essential player for Liverpool in the centre of the pitch.

He beats Diogo Jota by only a couple of minutes - but the next most used player, Jordan Henderson, is quite far behind on 617 minutes.
