Keita pulls out of Guinea squad — they initially called him up despite injury

It has been confirmed that the midfielder has now been excluded from the squad due to his fitness issues.

"The midfielder and captain of the national team will not be able to honour his summons on the sidelines of the international break in September 2022 due to his state of physical health," Guinea national team wrote in a statement.

"Selected as the 24th player, Naby Kéita was followed closely by the technical staff of the national team of Guinea. His state of health has been the subject of particular attention and regular exchanges have taken place between the Guinean Football Federation, Liverpool Football Club and the player.

"As indicated by the national coach on September 7, 2022, Mr. Kaba Diawara, a final assessment was made by the technical staff. It has been noted that the player's situation is improving. 

"However, according to the medical report sent by the Liverpool Football Club, Naby Kéita is considered not fit for the two games of Guinea.

"The technical staff of the Guinea national team has made the final decision to let the player continue his club's treatment protocol in order to allow him to return to competition as soon as possible and be available for the next national team matches."

i think the idea of giving him a new contract is to protect the club financially. I think he can leave next summer for free if a new contract isn’t agreed . Really can’t see any other reason for the talk of a new deal .

Keita injured and klopp wants to give him a new contract what a waste of time and money never been any good can't play a full season think klopp should ship him out I'm 70 years old and never had that many injuries  in my life

Hi Burgundy, none of us has a perfect knowledge of what goes on behind the scenes in LFC. And so to suggest Klopp is not thinking straight is a bit harsh given his overall positive track record to-date.

and Klopp has worked miracles for us. but remember we get judged in the here and now.
and sadly not what has gone passed.
and i just think
he's got it wrong with Keita.
why extend someones contract whose consistently injured. dont make sense

Burgundy, all I am saying none of us really knows if Klopp is pushing for Keita's contract extension. So, to criticise the gaffer based on speculative reasoning is just unfair to him.

what it sounds like your more or less saying, is that this is all happening and Klopp knows very little about 
about this contract thing with Keita.
so its out of Klopps hands. 

And haven't used a  F. or a C  word in slating Klopp.

keita being injured isn't worrying as he's always injured anyway, he's robbing a living at this point.
