Man City consider Klopp's comments on two sides' financial states as 'xenophobic' - believe it caused tensions at Anfield

According to The Times, Man City’s officials consider some of Jurgen Klopp’s comments before Liverpool’s 1-0 win over Man City to be ‘borderline xenophobic’.

The comments in question is how the German manager compared the two clubs' financial disparities and insisted that the Reds can never spend like City.

City are irked how Klopp indicated that ‘there are only three clubs in world football who can do what they want financially’, which was a dig at them.

They believe it whipped up the tensions at Anfield on Sunday before a game that already has a history of drama.

It’s clear that Klopp’s comments before the game clearly struck a nerve of the City officials and made them desperate for a win.

So when they didn’t get it on Sunday, it resulted in Pep Guardiola losing his mind and Bernardo Silva trying to hurt Mo Salah.
