Liverpool linked with Weston McKennie loan despite Premier League loan limitations

According to the Daily Mail, Liverpool are exploring a loan deal for Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie - but such a move does not appear to be possible.

As per rule V.7.5. of the Premier League handbook, 'in no circumstances shall more than one [temporary transfer] be from the same transferor club at any one time.' With Arthur already at Anfield, there's no space for McKennie.

PSV open to Gakpo sale in January

PSV head coach Ruud van Nistelrooy had admitted that Liverpool-linked Cody Gakpo might be on the move in January.

"If I have the choice, I prefer the summer, but it can also be now. You just know there comes a time when you can't say no," Van Nistelrooy told Voetbal International.

John Aldridge: 'Couldn't understand why Konate didn't start WC final'

Former Liverpool striker Aldridge was baffled by Deschamps' decision to leave Konate out of the final: "I couldn't understand why Konate didn't start in the Final. He's done nothing wrong every single time he's played. I don't know what the manager was doing, chopping and changing the centre-halves.

"If Konate had played the whole match who's to say that France wouldn't have won? I don't think they defended very well without him. The Argentinians ran them ragged for most of the game. He can hold his head up high."
