'Can't play with young people at this level': Konate issues transfer warning to Liverpool

Speaking to the French media, Ibrahima Konate was quite blunt suggesting that Liverpool need new blood ahead of the new campaign.

"I think the coach and those in charge of recruitment know that we need new players," Konate told RMC Sport.

"I believe we have four players leaving this season: Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Naby Keita, James Milner and Firmino. We have to replace them. If we don’t replace them, what do we do?

"Are we understaffed and lacking in quality? We cannot play with young people at this level."

Liverpool have already signed Alexis Mac Allister but this is only set to be a start, as the Reds hope to complete a couple of midfield signings and some transfers for the defensive line, too.
