'Nobody was interested in that': Klopp takes unexpected dig at Neville after wrong Mac Allister comment

One of the biggest stories of Liverpool's clash with Union Saint-Gilloise was the face-off between the Mac Allister brothers.

Kevin started for Union, while Alexis came off the bench for Liverpool, so they spent a few minutes on the pitch together. However, they spent even more time in the mixed zone talking to the media.

"They are doing 25 interviews in a row now together," Jurgen Klopp said before making a point that was never going to be true.

"It’s the first time that two brothers played against each other in world football or whatever it felt like, it’s a really nice story."

Of course, reporters jumped at the chance to correct him. For some reason, they cited Gary and Phil Neville facing each other in the Premier League.

"Well nobody was interested in that obviously," Klopp responded to laughter in the audience.

"Sorry, that was a penalty I had to take that."

Gary Neville has recently criticised Klopp for going too far in his claims that the Tottenham game should be replayed. Now, it seems to be some sort of payback from the boss.
