Nottm Forest coach banned for calling Paul Tierney 'f***ing c***' after Liverpool game

Nottingham Forest coach Steven Reid has been given a two-game suspension for foul language aimed at referee Paul Tierney, the Liverpool Echo report.

The incident happened after the final whistle in Forest's 1-0 defeat to Liverpool. The referee gave an uncontested drop ball to the Reds after an injury to Ibou Konate. Two minutes later, Darwin Nunez scored the only goal of the game.

There were ugly scenes at the City Ground as Forest staff, including the club president, remonstrated with Tierney.

"He [Reid] then said 'it’s the same every week, you c***'," Tierney wrote in his match report. "I showed him the red card and then he said 'I worked with you f***ing lot every f***ing week last season, it’s the same every f***ing week you c***'.

"He then continued to use the word f*** and called me a c*** on at least one more occasions (making that a minimum of three in total) as we were making our way off the field of play."

Quite a few Liverpool fans wouldn't necessarily disagree with Reid over his assessment of Tierney, considering the referee's history with the club over the past few years.
