Liverpool Player of the Month unveiled

Luis Diaz has been voted Liverpool Player of the Month after some impressive performances in April.

Diaz only scored twice and had as many assists in April but it was his work-rate, commitment and hunger that endeared fans to him during a torrid period for the Reds.

"Thank you very much. I'm really happy and grateful to have received this award, which is so valuable to us players," Diaz told the Liverpool website after receiving his award.

"I'm happy for the support of all the fans, knowing that they have been with me from the very moment I arrived until the last.

"They have always been super-attentive and supportive, not only of me but also of the institution, the team and I am very grateful to God for helping the team in this way."

Diaz takes his accolade.
