'It is a shame': Darwin Nunez reacts to Jurgen Klopp departure

"We were all a little shocked by Klopp’s departure, no one expected it. It is a shame that he is leaving," Darwin Nunez told El Paiz Uruguay.

"I personally would like him to [have left] in a big way, winning things, and it didn’t happen that way.

"It’s also a shame for the players. I wish him the best in the world."

Some fans have slammed Nunez for not applauding Klopp during his guard of honour after the final match at Anfield.

Darwin's words, however, seem to confirm that any fears of disagreement between the striker and his former boss are misplaced.
