Paul Pogba recalls how he sealed Man United exit after listening to his 'angry' brother Mathias

It appears that Paul Pogba's controversial Manchester United exit in the summer of 2012 wasn't down to just Mino Raiola's scheming.

According to the Frenchman, his older brother Mathias grew angry with the midfielder's lack of first-team involvement under Sir Alex Ferguson.

Looking back at leaving Old Trafford, the 27-year-old told UTD podcast: "My brother, the United fan, told me he was really angry – even more than me – when I didn't play.

"He told me: 'No, go. You can play in this team. If they don't want you here, go somewhere else. They will see'.

"When I came back, I was really happy to come back. I left it and didn't finish. I started something but I didn't finish, I just went somewhere else. To finish it."

Pogba went on to join Serie A giants Juventus on a free transfer before sealing a return to Old Trafford for a then-world record transfer fee of £89 million in the summer of 2016.

Ironically, Mathias continues to goad his brother into quitting the club once again despite being a so-called 'United fan', recently stating that the 27-year-old wants to leave Manchester.
