United said to be interested in promising young defender Marash Kumbulla

Man United have once again been linked with Hellas Verona defender Marash Kumbulla, after supposedly scouting the youngster in February.

According to local Italian newspaper Corriere di Verona - whose record isn’t that reliable actually - the Red Devils are still keeping tabs on the young defender and monitoring his progress at Hellas.

However, they also find competition for the youngster, with Chelsea, Eintracht Frankfurt and RB Leipzig all keeping a close eye on potentially signing him up for next season.

Hellas are not going to let him go for cheap and the report suggests that around €25-28m should be enough for any interested club to sign him next season, with the coronavirus outbreak taking a toll on clubs like Verona’s financial ability.

The Athletic recently reported that signing a centre-back isn’t a priority for United this summer. Even though Kumbulla has been highly impressive in the Serie A this season - making 18 appearances and helping Verona keep 7 clean-sheets - it’s unlikely that United will invest in another defender next season.
