"I think he [David Brooks] is a great player, he's got great game intelligence," former Wales international Nathan Blake has told Manchester Evening News.
"He can play anywhere, central midfield, centre-forward, left-wing or right-wing and to do that you need a great understanding of football, which he's got, versatility comes with that.
"He can be dominant because he understands the game, just like Ryan Giggs was when he moved from the left into central positions. Brooks I think is possibly, other than Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey, Wales' best player.
"I think he'd be at home at any level, I think he's that good a player. I look at him and think he could play for anybody: Barcelona, Juventus, Man United - I think he's that kind of boy," ex-Leicester striker concluded.
Bournemouth have reportedly placed a £40m asking price for David Brooks amid interest from the Red Devils, which is quite high for a player who's bound to spend the next year in the Championship.
The 23-year-old has found praise in the past for his exciting ability going forward and versatility in the attack, but the Red Devils are yet to make an offer for him as they continue hunting for a potential Jadon Sancho alternative.
