OFFICIAL: Mengi promoted to first-team, will don No.43 shirt

• The official Man United website has added Teden Mengi to the first-team squad, with the youngster set to wear the No.43 shirt.
• His shirt number has been bumped up from 71 to 43, thus signifying how far he's come since making his debut against LASK Linz in the Europa League last season.
• Mengi was an unused substitute during our win over Luton Town in the Carabao Cup and his addition will be useful in the days to come.
• Our opening league game against Crystal Palace continues to be a strong talking point because of our poor defence. As far as the lack of depth is concerned, the youngster will be a great addition to the first-team.
• Chris Smalling is likely to leave while Phil Jones and Axel Tuanzebe are recovering from injury. That leaves us with Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire and Eric Bailly as potential centre-back options.
