Rooney hints at future conversation with Sir Alex after becoming Derby County boss

Wayne Rooney has hinted that he’ll take some advice from Sir Alex Ferguson on how to improve his managerial skills after becoming Derby County manager.

He said: “I have not spoken to Sir Alex yet but I am a young manager in terms of experience. It would be naive not to seek advice from managers.

“I have worked with. The more advice you can get the better. I am confident in my ability to do the role. I believe in myself.”

Rooney was recently appointed the temporary manager at Derby and is currently operating in a player-coach role to help them stray clear of the relegation zone in the Championship.
