'He'll come good in time if given the chance': Man United fans confident Van de Beek will only get better

Donny van de Beek is yet to prove his worth at Manchester United but fans are confident that patience will be key to Dutchman's long-term success.

The 23-year-old put in a decent shift against Watford in the FA Cup win on Saturday, with his passing skills standing out in particular.

  • Prof_Bobo (via /r/RedDevils): "He'll come good in time if given the chance. Does an excellent job receiving the ball and making himself available in good positions. Can see that he's looking to be a good director from his position in the double pivot. The last few weeks were a little odd in his lack of playing, but I think the club should push Ole to play him more."
  • TheAlmightyKrot: "I'd try to avoid playing Donny in a holding double pivot unless necessary even though he can play there. His best role is the one Pogba played against Aston Villa."
  • TStronks: "He works best when given the freedom to roam around and connect with creative wingers. He's not a creator like Bruno, so he needs creative wingers to link up with. His biggest strengths is are movement and awareness around the opponents box, not his passing range or creativity. So imo he'd be best at 10, but only when creativity comes from someone else."
  • pradeepkanchan: "His time will come, if we played him when the season started and he didn't perform, the English press would label him a flop immediately. He had actual hype behind him, like a Werner, Ziyech and Havertz."
