Leeds defender Alioski: ‘If a Leeds defender handled the ball, Man United would’ve gotten a penalty’

Speaking after Man United’s 0-0 draw against Leeds United, Ezgjan Alioski told Sport Klub: “If a Leeds player was in the handball situation, the penalty would have been called [for Man Utd].”

Alioski is referencing the moment of the game when a cross struck Luke Shaw’s arm in the first half but was waved away as the referee clearly understood that it was unintentional.

VAR had a check on the incident but did not see malice to award a penalty, frustrating Leeds’ fans. Alioski was later booked in the game and was lucky not to be sent off towards the end after persistently fouling Man United’s stars with his aggressive style and causing a stir with his dirty tackles.
