After it was reported that Sergio Ramos is 'unlikely' to move to Old Trafford due to his wage demands, Raphael Varane now looks set to stay at the Bernabeu.

According to the Times, a tier-one source, the La Liga giants are no longer willing to sell the centre-back and new manager Carlo Ancelotti actually wants him to sign a new contract at the Bernabeu.

Varane was reportedly among the centre-backs on the Red Devils' shortlist as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks for defensive reinforcements. Victor Lindelof, Axel Tuanzebe and Eric Bailly were all deemed not good enough to partner Harry Maguire.
