As per The Transfer Window podcast's Duncan Castles, Sevilla will demand a fee of around €80 million to sell Jules Kounde this summer.
A bid worth €65 million could also be enough to get the deal over the line but Manchester United's opening offer has simply fallen short.
Spanish outlets have claimed that the Red Devils reportedly submitted a €45 million bid which got rejected - and it remains to be seen if club officials are willing to spend that.
Kounde played 34 La Liga games last season, scoring two goals and an assist which is remarkable for a centre-back. The 22-year-old also found the back of the net once in seven Champions League appearances.
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Kounde is one of the centre-backs on United's wishlist. Other possible options include Pau Torres and Raphael Varane.
