Sir Jim Ratcliffe risks ire of Man United staff by banning work from home

As per the Daily Mirror, Sir Jim Ratcliffe has banned the option for Manchester United staff to work from home.

During a recent team meeting, Ratcliffe urged employees to work on club premises - or 'seek alternative employment'.

The INEOS founder and Man United co-owner wishes to boost productivity and cited email traffic statistics to explain why he expects employees to report to the office.

Man United had implemented a flexible work-from-home option during the Covid-19 pandemic, which was never reverted. As a result, staff continued working from home until Ratcliffe's decision to end it.

However, the report also adds that there's not enough room for all employees at both Manchester and London offices.

That will be a challenge for Ratcliffe, whose previous decision to provide only tickets - and not cover travel costs - for the staff to watch the FA Cup final has already led to frustration.
