Solskjaer gives worrying injury updates on Cavani and Pogba

In his pre-match press conference before the game against Watford, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer gave an update on Paul Pogba’s injury and said: “It was a disappointing injury for Paul, a disappointing time for him of course.

“Sometimes you hope, fingers crossed, for six or seven weeks and the worst case scenario is 10, 11, 12 weeks with muscle injuries like this.

“One thing I'm sure of is that Paul is determined to come back and give his best when he comes back and he's already started that recovery with his own big mentality to come back stronger because Paul always has that personality to come back strong. Hopefully, just after Christmas we can see him.”

The Man United manager also gave an update on Edinson Cavani’s injury, adding: “Unfortunately he felt something in one of the last sessions before City and he had to pull out of the game because he didn’t feel right we’ve got to give him time to feel right.

“I can’t give you a timescale if it’s tomorrow (against Watford) or Tuesday or Chelsea. We’ll see how he is, that’s important.”

The Red Devils are already without Raphael Varane, who should return from his injury in December.

Luke Shaw could also miss the Watford game due to an injury, while Fred might not be fit enough after only returning from international duty on Friday.
