First-team coach Martyn Pert is also leaving the club and will be working as McKenna's assistant manager at Ipswich, who are currently 12th in the League One table.

35-year-old McKenna joined Man United in 2016, working as an Under-18s coach before being promoted to the first team in 2018 by Jose Mourinho. McKenna then became one of the assistant managers under Solskjaer.

Carrick: 'It won't be very long before you see me and Ole in the away end'

“It's not been easy to make the decision in that respect but in terms of family and, how I feel right now, I'm really content and happy and looking forward to what's ahead.”

Carrick announced his departure from Old Trafford after ending his stint as caretaker manager with an unbeaten record.

Yep! Phelan needs to leave also. He was a part of Ole's coaching team who were blamed 'by us all' for the position we were in based on performances, so Phelan rightly should also be jettisoned!!
