China suspend Premier League coverage for showing solidarity with Ukraine

As per the BBC, China has informed the Premier League that they will not allow the broadcast of live games this weekend as teams continue to show solidarity with Ukrainians amid the war with Russia.

China is a close political ally of Vladimir Putin and is choosing to stand with him as his troops continue to invade Ukraine.

The BBC understands that the Premier League captains will wear special armbands in Ukrainian colours during games this weekend.

Stadium screens across the UK will display 'Football Stands Together' with the flag of Ukraine.

Manchester United were among the teams that showed support for Ukraine ahead of the Watford stalemate last weekend. The players stood with a poster that read 'peace' in different languages and were joined by Watford as well.

The report further claims that fans have been asked to join 'a moment of reflection and solidarity before kick-off at each game'.

Meanwhile, the fighting in Ukraine has continued for over a week now. Millions have fled the country while several thousands have been injured as major cities are shelled.
