Man United are set to announce the appointment of former Hull City midfielder Tom Huddlestone in a player-coach role for their U21 side, as per various reliable sources.
The 35-year-old left the Championship side earlier this summer and will fill in as a replacement for Paul McShane.
United believe having an experienced teammate like Huddlestone can give the young players some in-game coaching.
He will also be responsible for helping the youngsters smoothly transition into first-team football.
The 35-year-old is unlikely to play more than five games, but can make appearances thanks to the rule that allows some players over the age of 21 to play in the Premier League reserves league.
Huddlestone has earned four caps for England in his career and also played for Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.
