'He's sort of steadied the ship': Wes Brown highlights major difference between Eriksen and Bruno

Speaking to 888sport, Wes Brown said: "I didn't know Christian Eriksen ran as much, but he does. And he's the player Manchester United have missed a little bit and that's not hammering Fred or Scott McTominay.

"He's always on the half-turn and ready to receive the ball. He's different to Bruno Fernandes despite many saying they're similar. Bruno will go for that magician ball but in those deeper positions there is more of a flow with Eriksen's one-twos.

"Eriksen knows when to turn and when to place it first time. We've missed that and he's sort of steadied the ship in that sense. When he has time he picks out the right pass as well. He's definitely opened up different areas of play for us."

Eriksen is slowly starting to look like the signing of the season after joining Man United on a free transfer from Brentford in the summer window.

The 30-year-old is starring in the deep-lying playmaker role under Erik ten Hag with Bruno currently playing in his preferred attacking midfielder role.
