Martinez - 9, McTominay - 5: rating Man United players in Arsenal defeat

Manchester United suffered a painful 3-2 defeat at Arsenal. Here are the player ratings for the Red Devils from the game.

De Gea looked shaky at some point and wasn't really to blame for any of the goals. Not his best performance overall.

Wan-Bissaka had a tough evening against Martinelli. He was beaten on a couple of occasions but he frustrated the Brazilian with his tackles and pace.

We all knew it was going to be a tough game for McTominay, especially as he had to fill the mighty shoes of Casemiro. The midfielder didn't quite impose himself and left Eriksen with a lot to do.

Rashford's fine streak continued. Although seemingly missing in the first half, he handled the most important task which was to score. In the second half, his influence dwindled further.

Eriksen came up some important interventions which ordinarily would have been McTominay's duty. He, however, didn't show his creative side much today.

Weghorst may not have scored but the Dutchman showed excellent work rate and link-up play. He ran his socks out through out the game.

Martinez was the star of the evening. He showed his qualities both in defence and attack. At the back, he stifled the Gunners' attack to some extent and stepped forward to show his goalscoring prowess.

The rest: Bruno — 7, Shaw — 6, Varane — 7, Antony — 6,
