'Give Mourinho his title': United fans want City to be stripped of 2017-18 league title for alleged financial breach

being stripped of titles over financial breach

Man City allegedly broke financial rules for 9 seasons, investigation set to take place

 have been accused of a host of financial fair play breaches in an unprecedented move by the 

 following a four-year investigation that was delayed on several occasions by legal challenges.

A statement from the league said alleged breaches were committed across nine different seasons beginning in 2009/10 and will now be referred to an independent commission.

"The Premier League has referred a series of alleged breaches of financial rules by Manchester City to an independent commission," the statement said.

"City allegedly breached Premier League financial rules over a period of nine seasons. They are alleged to have not provided accurate financial information, “in particular with respect to its revenue (including sponsorship revenue), its related parties and its operating costs”.

"They also allegedly did not fully disclose managerial remuneration for a four-year period. City’s breaches have now been referred to a commission.

"The Premier League has also alleged that City did not comply with UEFA’s regulations around club licensing and financial fair play in 2013-14 and between 2014-15 and 2017-18. They also breached Premier League rules on profit and sustainability in 2015-16, 2016-17 and 2017-18.

"City are also alleged to have not cooperated and assisted the Premier League in their investigation between, “including by providing documents and information to the Premier League in the utmost good faith”, between 2018-19 and 2022-23.

"A Premier League statement read: “In accordance with Premier League Rule W.82.1, the Premier League confirms that it has today referred a number of alleged breaches of the Premier League Rules by Manchester City Football Club (Club) to a Commission under Premier League Rule W.3.4.”

You are correct that the documents are for 2009-2018 but City refused to cooperate with the investigation 2018 onwards, so I wouldn't rule out anything
