Bruno Fernandes – 6
Looked like one of the few players that really cared about winning. Restricted in his out of position role, but still moved the ball around well and created some nice chances.
Wan-Bissaka was actually quite solid on his side, winning the ball quite often and moving it forward too. Created a few nice chances and was brave with his challenges.
Eriksen made some nice passes to link-up attacks, but his role was confusing. He often went onto become the advanced-most player on the pitch and played way higher than usual, limiting his creative threat.
Tyrell Malacia – 4.5
Not sure why he started the game and was tormented all game long by Bowen. Failed to keep West Ham quiet through his side and added no attacking threat whatsoever.
Wout Weghorst – 4
Started in that weird no.10 role again and failed to do what a no.10 is supposed to, which is create chances. Had a shot on target, but that was just about it as he seemingly slowed down his side’s attackis with his rustiness.
Marcus Rashford – 4
Rashford was able to use his pace to get into some promising areas, but his finishing was poor. Most of his efforts went wayward and he ended up losing any threat as the game progressed.
David de Gea – 1
In his record-setting appearance, De Gea had his seasonal stinker. Made an amateurish error in allowing Benrahma’s shot to go in for the winner and was so poor with his distribution again. The only reason he’s not getting a zero is because of a few nice saves he made, but his performance today shows why he shouldn’t be an undisputed no.1 going forward.
