Speaking to Betfair, Dimitar Berbatov said: "Going forward with the Sir Jim Ratcliffe takeover, I wonder how brave Manchester United will be in the transfer market. Joshua Kimmich is being linked, but he's such an important player.
"Can I see him leaving Bayern Munich and coming to Man United in the January transfer window? I don't think that will happen. Maybe we can speak about this transfer in the summer, but he's someone who is highly regarded.
"With Casemiro's injuries and form, maybe Man United are going to look for a replacement. Kimmich is someone who fits perfectly in that position, but does he want to leave Bayern? That's going to be a tough decision."
Casemiro almost single-handledly carried Man United to a top-four finish in 2023/24 but this season has been a completely different story.
Injuries and fitness issues have limited the Brazilian to just 12 appearances across all competitions this campaign and it could be time to move on.
