Harry Maguire – 7
Maguire was defensively pretty solid, making five clearances, three interceptions and recovering possession five times. Got booked a rash challenge in the first half and missed an open header in the first half – but made up by being in the right place to score his tap-in.
Diogo Dalot – 6
Dalot kept things pretty quiet on the right, not allowing the visitors to create that many chances through his side. Went close to scoring when his long-range effort clipped the post in the first half and made some nice forward runs.
Andre Onana – 6
Onana actually had a great game with a disappointing finish. Made a string of important saves in the first half, showing great reactions. He also moved the ball around really efficiently, helping create some nice moves. Couldn’t really be blamed for the first goal because of its power but statued by the second.
Kobbie Mainoo – 5
Mainoo was not able to bring that extra spark of creativity in midfield, being quite predictable with his passing and not being able to dribble his way past trouble either. Defensively caught lacking at times, unable to create much and substituted late on.
Bruno Fernandes – 5
Fernandes had a pretty underwhelming game in general, but raised the spark towards the end. He created some half chances, gave away the ball quite often (managing a 75% pass accuracy) and was somewhat fortunate to see his shot parried onto Maguire for his goal. Then tested Leno with some nice shots but unable to score.
Marcus Rashford – 3
Rashford had a really frustrating outing playing as the no.9. Couldn’t really link up with his teammates well and unable to create anything major. Was not able to get at the end of chances or create anything for himself either.
