Quoted by Reuters, Gareth Southgate said about Kobbie Mainoo: "He gives us a different profile of midfield player to anything else we’ve got and we’re really pleased with what he's done.
"You can’t believe his age really. His attributes are there for everybody to see, that ability to receive under pressure and ride challenges, to manipulate the ball in tight areas.
"Everything that we've seen with his club, he reproduced in an England shirt which isn't always the case.
"Very calm, receives the ball so well under pressure, strong, so we are a little bit more open playing that way but the benefits with the ball were clear to see."
Mainoo commanded the midfield with a dominating performance in England's 2-2 draw with Belgium on Tuesday.
The Manchester United teenager, 18, picked up a Player of the Match award on his very first start for the senior Three Lions squad.
