Erik ten Hag blames 'bad luck' for Man United's season from hell

In Sky Sports' interview of Erik ten Hag hosted by Gary Neville, the Manchester United manager discussed several pressing issues.

One of them is, of course, the plethora of injuries Man United have dealt with in just a single season.

Tyrell Malacia, for example, has been out since pre-season last year while key defenders Luke Shaw and Lisandro Martinez have barely featured.

When asked about the concerning numbers, Ten Hag appeared to blame everything but the medical team.

"We do research, but a lot also has to do with bad luck," he explained.

"When you are in a season and the results are not going in a particular way you will also see you pick up more injuries than in a season when everything goes right.

"But we are still there in the season, we have four games to go, a cup final to play, players are returning and that gives us a good mood into those four next games and the cup final."

The medical team has raised several questions amid reports of players' injuries not being handled the proper way.

Not having adequate cover has certainly impacted Ten Hag but that doesn't mean the medical department shouldn't be replaced.
