Club World Cup squad announced: Casemiro & Nacho in, Vallejo out

With the start of the Club World Cup nearing, Santiago Solari has revealed the list of 23 Real Madrid players who will be participating in the competition. 

The squad goes as follows:

Goalkeepers: Thibaut Courtois, Keylor Navas, Kiko Casilla.

Defenders: Dani Carvajal, Alvaro Odriozola, Sergio Ramos, Raphael Varane, Nacho, Marcelo, Sergio Reguilon.

Midfielders: Casemiro, Marcos Llorente, Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, Isco, Marco Asensio, Dani Ceballos and Federico Valverde.

Forwards: Karim Benzema, Gareth Bale, Mariano Diaz, Lucas Vazquez, Vinicius Junior.

As you can see, Casemiro and Nacho who are yet to recover from their respective injuries are expected to travel with the team in the United Arab Emirates, while Jesus Vallejo, who is yet to make an appearance this season due to injury struggles, is left out.

Youngsters Sergio Reguilon, Fede Valverde and Vinicius included in the squad as expected.

The competition will take place in the United Arab Emirates from December 12 to December 22. Los Blancos, the last year's holders, will only be participating starting from the semifinals stage, on December 19. The final will be played on Saturday, December 22.

"We are lucky enough to be playing in this competition and we will give everything we can to win the trophy," Karim Benzema said at the announcement of the television rights for the tournament as per Marca.

"It is a very important tournament for us and we need to have it in our head that we are going to win this trophy.

"We want to win this title for confidence, because it is a big trophy and because we are at Madrid, where we always play to win."
