Nacho: This season is 'not normal', but we are still alive in all competitions

Real Madrid have a reached a 'milestone' of sorts against Leganes: they have suffered their 10th defeat of the season - something that hasn't happened with them ever since 1998/99 season.

Obviously, the team can't be happy with such an abysmal record but they still managed to qualify for the quarter-finals of Copa del Rey. This is what Nacho has pointed out in his post-match interview.

"At Madrid, we are used to winning everything," the defender said. "When a streak [like this] comes, it is atypical but we're satisfied with reaching the next round in a strange season.

"The feelings from the first half weren't good and overconfidence [from the first leg] means you won't be at 100 percent.

"We improved a lot in the second half and it is important to win matches for confidence, but we now have to put three, four or five [results] together."

Nevertheless, Nacho remains optimistic:

"I want to finish every year like the previous ones but we know that is difficult to do," he added. "But we are Madrid and we will fight for everything."

Los Blancos now await the draw for the next round which will take place at 5 pm CET on Friday at the Ciudad del Futbol de Las Rozas. Madrid could be paired with Valencia, Getafe, Girona, Sevilla or the winners of the ties between Real Betis and Real Sociedad, Levante and Barcelona and Villarreal and Espanyol.
