Real Madrid star Bruno Iglesias joins the Common Goal initiative to donate 1% of his salary to help fight the coronavirus

Bruno Iglesias has officially joined the Common Goal initiative as the 16-year-old Real Madrid starlet looking to help those affected by the novel coronavirus.

The Spaniard said: "I think it's important not to focus on material things and to help with what is really important."

Man United midfielder Juan Mata, who previously spent three years at Real Madrid Castilla, and the Common Goal initiative have launched a COVID-19 response fund in a bid to help the most vulnerable communities amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Footballers all over the world have pledged to donate 1 per cent of their wages to help various charities with the organisation focusing on battling coronavirus these days.

Iglesias is the first Madrid player to join the Common Goal.
