An ankle injury spoiled the end of a strong season in the Premier League for Vitaliy Mykolenko, but just when it seemed he risked missing the Euros, everyone breathed a sigh of relief when he posted a positive update on Instagram. The question remains though whether the defender will have time to get fully fit for the Euros, and there’s a lot to worry about. Mykolenko has been one of the better left-backs in the Premier League recently and his strong defensive performances against the best forwards helped Everton stay up despite financial problems and points deductions. Mykolenko is not the most technical player and does not offer much creativity, but his ability to win the ball has saved Ukraine on many occasions. Capped over 40 times, he has been an undisputed mainstay under the last three coaches.
