Guendouzi breaks silence after squad exile, remains tightlipped on his future

Matteo Guendouzi has finally said something publicly after being frozen out of the Arsenal squad by Mikel Arteta, but it's certainly not what we expected.

"Holidays," wrote the midfielder on Instagram, adding a beautiful view from a terrace or a balcony facing the seaside.

Nothing in this social media post suggests the man who took this picture has not kicked a ball after June 20, when the Gunners were defeated by Brighton in the Premier League clash.

After the game, the 21-year-old went medieval on Seagulls forward Neal Maupay, grabbing his compatriot's throat and making him fall on the floor.

While Ian Wright believes Maupay could perhaps get an Oscar for his acting performance, something about this clearly enraged Mikel Arteta as the boss has not picked Guendouzi for the matchday squad since the incident.

The 38-year-old has refused to explain what exactly is wrong with Matteo. It appears as if we're talking about the France youth international breaking some rules set by the head coach, who wants to introduce a rigorous work ethic at Arsenal.

Interestingly, another out-of-favour player, Mesut Ozil, took to Twitter to congratulate his teammates on winning the FA Cup but Guendouzi remained silent on Arsenal's success in the competition.

The 21-year-old was nowhere to be seen at Wembley in the final clash against Chelsea. Before the end of the season, he worked out with a fitness coach, banned from attending training sessions with the rest of the team.

There are multiple transfer rumours linking Guendo with an exit from the Emirates, with some even stating Arsenal hope to use him as a bait to land Thomas Partey (The Guardian) or Phillipe Coutinho (Independent).

What is the best way to deal with Guendouzi? Tell us in the comments or through blogs!
