According to 90Min, William Saliba could be 'blocked' by Arsenal from joining the France squad for the Olympics meaning he'd miss the start of 2024/24.
The legendary Thierry Henry will step into the dugout as France U21 manager and has reportedly requested for Saliba to be involved.
90Min understands FIFA rules allow Arsenal the right to deny an international call-up during tournaments not recognised by the governing body.
Since the Olympics has no association with FIFA, Arsenal could refuse to release Saliba.
Football in the Olympics will be held between July 24 to August 9. The final is scheduled one week before the potential Premier League opener for the new season in August.
Joining France for the Olympics in Paris is an incredible opportunity but if Arsenal prevent Saliba from joining, it could be beneficial for the Gunners.
