Speaking on talkSPORT radio, West Brom forward Charlie Austin said: "Tammy Abraham would go to Crystal Palace and be the main man. He'd probably thrive for a team like Palace.
"There wouldn't be too much expectation. He can go and score double figure goals and that’s tough in the Premier League.
"But the demand is not constantly there like it is at Chelsea. If you don't perform, you get scrutinised. That's what's happening to Timo Werner now."
Abraham has reportedly reached 'the point of no return' at Stamford Bridge after being left out of the matchday squad in the 1-0 defeat against Leicester City in the FA Cup final last week.
The striker could be reunited with Frank Lampard at Selhurst Park although recent reports suggest that the ex-Chelsea boss has pulled out of the race to succeed Roy Hodgson as Palace manager.
