France president Emmanuel Macron announced that full, double-vaccinations will be made mandatory for professional athletes in the country, starting from January 15, 2022.
This means that if a player has not taken the vaccine or only has one dose, he will not be able to compete in a professional sports game in France.
This news is especially relevant for Chelsea as the Blues are set to travel to Lille early in March for the second leg of their Champions League Round of 16 tie.
So far, only Christian Pulisic, Romelu Lukaku and Mason Mount have come out and confirmed that they have taken the vaccine.
Thomas Tuchel also confirmed that he was double-vaxxed - however, he refused to force his stance on any of his players, stating that it is a personal choice and he doesn't want to start 'a witch hunt' against unvaccinated people.
